Love amongst chaos – a poem

Love amongst chaos – a poem

The pots and pans are stacked on the side
Crusty and moldy where wet food has dried
The laundry is spilling full up to the brim
The machine partially filled on a tidy up whim
Bedclothes of old lay bunched in a heap
In the smell and the staining is where we do sleep
The floors thick with crumbs and strands of shed hair (ew)
Milk spots and chocolate smeared over the chair
Stacked on each surface amidst dust and decay
Are toys, books and knick-knacks all ready for play
The garden’s a state and don’t know where to start
But once gloves are put on I just don’t have the heart
Dinner needs cooking but the cupboards are bare
Shopping’s required to put more food in there
We live in a hovel, a mess and a dump
I can’t look around without getting the hump

And yet I’ve got time – a whole hour or two
But while you sleep darling, I’m here watching you.

This is literally my life! It never ends does it. I have to say, our life has definitely got better since we got a cleaner recently. I just couldnt keep up with all the housework anymore! Best investment ever 🙂 Fab poem, thanks for sharing it on #MarvMondays. Emily

I think I might have to invest eventually – a cleaner would be my beast friend right about now!
