My mummy’s body – a poem

My mummy’s body – a poem

My mummy’s got some wobbly bits

They wiggle just like jelly

Wibble wobble, wibble wobble

Go her bum, her hips and belly

She likes to take half-hearted runs

Some press-ups here and there

I’m sure I’ve seen a burpy too

But they are pretty rare

She tells me that she’s losing weight

To be both fit and strong

And of course I do support her

So please don’t get me wrong

But have you seen the woman exercise?

There are so many jiggles

That I really cannot help myself

And end up with the giggles

Plus, I know she’s being naughty

On her diet she is cheating

It’s unlikely she will shrink her bum

With all the chocolate she’s been eating

My mummy’s got some wobbly bits

But her belly’s all I’ve known

She says that it’s a special place

The one where I was grown

Sometimes she looks a little sad

When she sees her own reflection

Until I let her know of course

That to me she is perfection

I don’t mind if things aren’t tight you see

Or if her skin’s a little saggy

I don’t get why she must hide away

Or wear her clothes all baggy

Her body is my favourite thing

It holds me really tight

It carries me throughout the day

Gives me cuddles through the night

So I may laugh when she works out

But only as I’m sure

It doesn’t matter if she loses weight

She’s my mum forevermore

My mummy’s got some wobbly bits

But if there’s one thing that I’ve taught her

It’s that she wouldn’t change them for the world

As they mean I am her daughter.

The perfect combo of comedy, poetry and MUM TUM LOVE! Yes to this – we are all looking in the mirror at this time of year with a bit more of a groan, but our bods ain’t ever going to be what they used to be. Pass the pimms, and the chocolate 😉

Oh the dramas of the mum tum. I wish I could have returned to my pre-baby figure but after years of trying and now meeting the menopause head on I just know those days are well and truly gone. Great poem. #coolmumclub

Love this (obvs since you were my #blogcrush 😂) Its the perfect blend of funny with some emotion too. And you’re right, none of it matters to our children. Although my 4 year old wouldn’t let me on a bouncy castle earlier in case I ‘popped’ it 🙈🙈🙈😂 x
