Mummy needs motivation – a poem

Mummy needs motivation – a poem

Mummy needs a bit of motivation in her life

Keeping up with everything is causing her some strife

She thought she’d be relaxing in this year’s maternity

Instead she’s barely got the time now for a wee

The house is very messy though she always puts away

Cleans her little heart out but it’s grubby the next day

Trying to find the time to exercise now isn’t fun

There always seems to be more pressing things that must be done

And eating well is often at the top of mummy’s list

But cooking when she’s busy is the first thing that is missed

She wants to make more time so she can lose a pound or two

Though chilling eating chocolate is most likely what she’d do

Now throw this little blogging game somewhere into the mix

And you can see why mummy needs a motivation fix

She thought that this was just a bit of intellectual fun

With no idea the madness that the first post had begun

It takes up every second of her unassuming life

She works to build up quickly as the competition’s rife

And if she falls behind because her planning really sucks

It’s very hard to say, ‘meh, I don’t really give two sausages

So first the house is sacrificed to catch up with her posts

Followed by her bottom and the extra weight it boasts

And surely there is something that I’m missing in this list?

For by now I’m pretty sure that you have finally got the gist

There is no time in mummy’s life to fit much in at all

So she spends it very wisely simply staring at the wall

With a niggle that the woman has forgotten something big

And it’s not a spa retreat nor the latest music gig

If it’s that important it’ll come back soon, maybe…

Oh bollocks, what on earth did mummy do with the baby!?!

Back in the day, parents used to leave their children in prams outside the shops. Most women of my mum’s generation have a “Whoops, I forgot the baby story!”.

It’s so hard to imagine leaving the pram outside, but I guess it was just the norm then. With so much going on in a mother’s mind, I bet that’d be so easy to just walk out, get home and suddenly realise!

Ha ha, this is brilliant. You are so right, until you hit publish in that first post you have no idea what you have just unleashed, you are now destined to never have any free time ever again 😂
