Chasing after you – a poem

Chasing after you – a poem

Come and get it little one

It’s waiting here for you

This toy is something special

Almost too good to be true

It won’t be here for very long

Come catch it while you can

Stop babbling away to me

No time to make a plan

I know you like to talk things through

But haste is what you need

So take the brakes off little one

And try to gain some speed

Please don’t try to sit this out

I haven’t got all day

If you want to have some fun

Come over here and play

Perhaps we’ll try a little food

A melty puff or two

If you just make your way to me

I’ll give them both to you

One hand in front the other dear

It’s really not that hard

I’ve seen you do it on the bed

Don’t play the “I can’t” card

Every baby moves my sweet

You’d love it if you tried

So get your little ass right here

And put those fears aside

That’s it, you’ve got it, I’m so proud

I think I’m gonna bawl

My little girl is all grown up

My baby’s learnt to crawl

Ok slow down now, not so fast

I didn’t think this through

Now there’ll never be moments peace

When I’m chasing after you!

Chasing after you

Oh I love this! It’s so true isn’t it?! We spend so much time willing them to get moving, then all we want is for them to sit still for five minutes! Thanks so much for sharing with #Blogstravaganza xx

Haha I’m hiding in another room leaving daddy to chase for 5 minutes while replying to this! Yep, I’m the silly one! 🙂
