Guest series: my body is beautiful because… Raising Baby Bu

Thank you for joining my guest series ‘My body is beautiful because…

I’d like to introduce the lovely Buyani from Raising Baby Bu today. This is a beautiful post that encourages us to take a step back and appreciate everything that our body does for us – not just the way it looks.

Over to Buyani…

My body is beautiful because…

God blessed me with eyes that see the world…

Ears that can listen…

A nose to smell all that nature has to offer.  ..

A mouth to speak…

Hands to work…

Legs and feet so I can walk…

I keep beating myself up about my weight. I remember before I had my little one I used to weigh 75kg, when I was pregnant I was about 85kg, currently I am on 65kg and I am not happy.

I feel I could lose more weight and at least be in the fifties. I also need to get rid of my belly fat as it isn’t sexy for me. I had a C-section, and my stomach isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but none the less my body is beautiful because I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy little girl.

It is beautiful because God created all of this from scratch and knew I would be the right person to take care of it.

My body is beautiful because it makes me who I am; it gives me confidence when I have to go about my daily tasks that need to be done.

My body is BEAUTIFUL flaws and all!!!

Flaws and all – how gorgeous is that!? Thank you Buyani – this is a fantastic message. Sometimes we don’t appreciate our bodies enough for everything they’ve been through… growing and birthing a human is a pretty incredible achievement!
